Pre Nuptial Agreements, also referred to as Pre Marital Agreements, are increasing in popularity in the United Kingdom especially for couples where this is not their first marriage. There is a perception that Pre Nuptial Agreements are unromantic, whereas to some they can avoid the time, expense and acrimony associated with divorce settlements.

The law in relation to Pre Nuptial Agreements is fast moving and continues to develop. They are still not enforceable in England and Wales but more weight is being attached to them in certain circumstances.
